Great news! Eskritoryo Pilipinas and Polecats Manila have teamed up to stage “Amihan: Indayog at Lahi” on November 3, 7PM, at the Meralco Theatre.
What is Amihan: Indayog at Lahi? It’s a fundraising show featuring pole and aerial arts. It will be performed by the Polecats Manila and with the participation of the LPU Dance Troupe and Kontemporaryong Gamelan Pilipinas (Kontra-GaPi). We’ve gotten Kuya Bodjie Pascua to host. The music and performances are inspired by a Visayan folk belief that the world is divided into different layers.
This also marks Polecats’ fourth anniversary. Polecats Manila is considered to be the premier pole dancing school in Manila. One of our own practices aerial silks and pole fitness with the Polecats.
Who will this benefit? Part of the proceeds of the show will support our Kuwentong Munti program, where we go to different schools and foundations to teach kids more about Filipino literature and culture (right now, our thrust is on myths and legends) as a way of helping them become more creative and appreciative of their heritage.
The show is organized by Polecats Manila and Eskritoryo Pilipinas and co-presented by Benefit and Meralco Theatre. You can visit our event website here for more details: http://indayogatlahi.wordpress.com/
