Our Projects

This year’s (2013) Christmas Book Drive will donate all the books gathered to public school libraries in the Visayas. Last year, we sent your donations to the Youth P.O.W.E.R. reading program at Kalayaan National High School in Caloocan City.

#12Books4Christmas is Eskritoryo Pilipinas, Inc.‘s Twitter campaign to promote books from Filipino authors, especially those about local mythology and environmental sustainability.

Kuwentong Munti is a reading/writing workshop for representatives of different public schools, gathered in batches. A series of lectures will be given to the students by speakers from different fields (art, design, literature). Eskritoryo Pilipinas, Inc. hopes to widen the program’s scope to include more classes/grade levels and to make it a continuing program for theĀ  participants.

Amihan: Indayog at Lahi was a fundraising show created together with Polecats Manila. Polecats Manila is the premier pole studio in the Philippines, a creative outfit that also takes inspiration from art, jazz, ballet, athletics, and other fields. With their artistry, we brought to life a Visayan folk belief. The show was narrated by Kuya Bodjie Pascua, and joined by the Lyceum of the Philippines University Dance Troupe and Kontemporaryong Gamelan Pilipino of the University of the Philippines.

Kuwentong BAGo is a self-sustaining fund-raising program. It aims to raise funds for Kuwentong Munti through the sale of environmentally-friendly school bags made of indigenous materials. The bags will contain artwork inspired by Philippine literature, created by up-and-coming graphic artists and illustrators. The project also aims to create awareness among the general public and help them carry a piece of Philippine literature with them.
